Discover the story of Amondo, a magical epic set in the heart of West Africa.
In West Africa, a gigantic baobab tree stands in the centre of a village struggling with a terrible drought. Amondo, son of the baobab tree, known as ‘the gatherer’, is the only one who can restore hope to the villagers by freeing the water source from the curse cast on it by the sun.
Adapted from the show Baobab, created in 2008 by the Motus theatre company and winner of numerous awards from critics and audiences alike, this story, inspired by traditional West African tales, promotes ecology and solidarity. Children will be captivated by the courageous Amondo's journey of discovery, as well as by the seven songs that accompany the tale and showcase the sounds of African instruments such as the kora, djembe and balafon.
